Who and Why
Where did you get the name Psychic Yayas from?
- Our name was originally used as an insult. We were investigating a property with another ghost group and we were having problems with the way the group was handling their business. The lead investigator was getting angry and began to try to pull us apart, but we wouldn't budge. Finally in a conversation after the fact, he said, "I don't need this Psychic Yaya, b---s--t." After that, his group fell apart and we decided to continue to work together and use his insult as our group name.
Where are you located?
- All over the US actually. Our team leaders are based in Los Angeles and Central Florida. We also have members in New Orleans, St Louis, Boston and near Philly.
What makes you different?
- Our experiences have allowed us to work with several different people and use several different research techniques. We have realized that there are really two different types of psychics: One is the peace, love and ice cream type. They deal with feelings and come from a positive place. The second is the darker kind. They deal with the heavier emotions. We work with both kinds and this helps us deal with all different kinds of problems. We have gone to New York to deal with a "possessed" home of a celebrity and gone to Kissimmee, Fl to deal with a ghost of a lost boy in a private residence. We just want to help.
Why have you started the site?
- We just felt the time is right. As tv is flooded with more and more psychics, we realized how many people are doing it incorrectly. Spirits are yelled at and provoked. People get overlooked as most investigators are in it only to collect evidence. We get calls all the time of people needing help and we just wanted to give them another choice. They can call someone who just got started in this field because they watched "Ghost Hunters" or they can call psychics who have actually been doing this for over 20 years and have a proven track record.
